This month, the Builders Center of Chicago is pleased to announce a new development to the financial arm of our business. Meredith Barth, our in house financing specialist, is now partnered with Chicago Bancorp, one of Chicago’s leading innovators in Independent Mortgage Banking. This key partnership now expands Builder Center of Chicago's financing capabilities to include additional sought after programs such as the Chicago Tax Smart Program, and various other employee assistance plans. Do you know what the City of Chicago Tax Smart program is? Dozens of local city employers offer incentives for living near their locations. A few of these employers include Chicago Public Schools, Loyola University, Chicago Police Department, Mercy Hospital, University of Chicago, Rush Medical Center and many more. INVOLVEMENT Also during May, BCC attended the orientation meeting of the Pastoral Committee of the 7th Ward. While discussing the ideas of real estate, home ownership, rent-to-own, etc, it was noted by the Committee that BCC had additional organizational talents to offer that could benefit the group. As a result we have been invited to take a broader role in helping The Pastoral Committee expand it’s role in the We look forward to helping the clergy in its important mission to improve the quality of life in South Shore. |

PROPERTY SPOTLIGHT: 7254 S. YATES IN CHICAGO Our gut-rehab on the northwest corner of 73rd and Yates is filling up quickly. At the moment we consider this our incubator building where renters are welcome and given the chance to get an RTO (rent-to-own) program started. At some point, the building may be converted to condominiums. As a result, our renters benefit by being able to pick out their condo quality finishes, today. Floor plans range from simplex 2 bedroom, one bath, to expansive duplex units unique to the entire South Shore community. 2016 OLYMPIC GAMES Earlier this month the International Olympic Committee (IOC) selected Chicago as a finalist city in its bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. Chicago is now officially one of four remaining candidate cities up for consideration to host the 2016 games. Being awarded the games will be a big boost for the City of Chicago, especially in its South Side communities where the Builders Center of Chicago does the majority of it’s development. The official planning for the Chicago Olympics includes development of athlete housing and sport related venues from McCormick place to Washington Park. Good Luck Chicago! |

BUILDERS CENTER OF CHICAGO SPOTLIGHT: BERTINA POWER
Builders Center of Chicago Spotlight presents Mrs. Bertina Power. Mrs. Power recently joined the real estate management team at the BCC with many years of experience and success in the business. We are pleased to have her as a key addition to our management team and are pleased to now introduce her to you as well. Mrs. Power has most recently worked to manage a local affiliate office for one of the largest residential real estate firms in the US. Her depth of experience in the industry will ensure that she is a focal player in the future growth and success of Builders Center of Chicago’s in house real estate brokerage company, Gem Realty Partners. Mrs. Power’s experience in the industry extends well beyond her expertise on the management level. She is also a frequent face on some of HGTV’s most popular real estate programs. Here, Mrs. Power brings her experience up to the national level where she educates viewers across the country on Chicago’s real estate market. With the opening of the BCC South Side offices on 43rd and Ellis, management has chosen Mrs. Power to head up the real estate operations at the South Side location.
