We wanted to update you on two important developments.

Today, as part of the closing ceremony for the weeklong International Sister Cities Festival, Mayor Daley unveiled the new Chicago 2016 emblem. The event drew top government officials, including Democratic presidential hopeful Senator Barack Obama; bid leaders; Olympians and Paralympians; and thousands of Chicago residents. The emblem features the Olympic rings, which symbolize that Chicago has become a Candidate City.
