Overview

The Builders Center of Chicago (BCC) created the Road to Ownership Program to help struggling real estate developers sell their property.

The BCC Road to Ownership Program works by finding renters who contract to purchase your property in a set period of time. These renters would like to buy immediately, but they have bad credit and/or can’t afford a down payment.

The BCC Road to Ownership Program widens the pool of prospective buyers, increases opportunities for sales, and offers a quick influx of money. Under the Road to Ownership contract, a portion of monthly rent goes towards equity on the eventual down payment. Meanwhile, a BCC expert financial advisor works with the renter to improve their credit rating. The down payment and better credit score enable the renter to secure a mortgage and buy your house or condo.

How the Road to Ownership Program Works

John wanted to sell his condo. However, the economy was bad and he thought it would be impossible to find a buyer at his price. Luckily, John heard about the BCC Road to Ownership Program.

After contacting BCC and enrolling in the Road to Ownership Program, BCC found John a renter who was willing to buy the condo in 12 months at John’s price.
